12 . Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2007 Lassen County Times, Westwood PinePress OBITUARIES MILES MORGAN Miles "Jack" Morgan died at Banner Lassen Medical Center Nov. 1, 2007 at the age of 66. He was born in Loyalton, Calif on March 6, 1941. He moved to Milford 62 years ago. He worked for Sierra Army Depot for 32 years retiring in January 2000. He was an avid hunter, fish- erman, and goldminer. He is survived by his wife Kathleen, of Milford; daugh- ters Kristina, of Susanyille and Stephanie, of Milford; two grandsons, Cristian and Bradley; four brothers, Don and Marsha, Tom and Mary, both of Milford, Calif Bud and Joan, of Loyalton, Ted and Yvette, of Lemon Valley, Nev.; one sister Mary Jane and Fred of Loyalton and numerous nieces and nephews. Graveside services were held on Nov. 3 at Milford Cemetery. Donations can be made to American Cancer Society. DOROTHY MARIE PLATT Westwood resident Dorothy Marie Platt passed from this life to her eternal home with her maker Wednesday morn- ing, Oct. 31, 2007 at Seneca District Hospital located in Chester, Calif. Born 85 years ago in Huntington Beach, Calif. to the late Carl and Helen (Thomson) Groce she has resided in the northeastern Sierra Nevada community of Westwood for the past 43 years. She moved to West:wood from Rifle, Colorado Where she had resided for twelve years prior. While visiting family in Termo, Calif. she was intro- duced to a handsome young cowboy named Robert Henry. Dorothy found great solace in Native American spiritual- ism and enjoyed traveling to the Pew Wow's of the area natives. Blessed with a green thumb she tended to a beautiful gar- den, and loved to share her guitar playing and country music singing talents with others. % Enamored with the ocean and-its beautiful coastline, Dorothy loved to beachcomb, She enjoyed the outdoors especially camping, fishing and swimming. Dorothy had an artistic nature about her which it could be found in the beauti- ful art work she painted and drew. In passing Dorothy leaves her loving husband of 16 years Robert of Westwood, Calif.; son Melvin C. Platt of Denver, Colo.; daughter Sheila Platt Johnston of Janesville, Calif.; brother, Carl E. (Becky) Bowen died in Redding, Calif. on Aug. 27, 2007. She was born in LeGrand, Calif. on Jan. 27, 1921 to Harvey and Belle Hiles. She moved to Lassen County with her parents in her teens and attended Lassen Union High School. She married Richard K. Bowen in 1958 and lived in Red Bluff, Paskenta, Anderson, Burney, Forks of Salmon, Shingletown and Redding. He is preceded in death by his daughter; Jerilyn: Stacey, who died in 1969. A time of visitation and sharing took place Monday Oct. 29, 2007. A celebration of Kramer's life, including. Military Honors, took place at the graveside in the Chester District Cemetery on Monday, Oct. 29, 2007. FREDRICK DAVID QUERY Fredrick David Query, 72, died on Oct. 18, 2007 in Susanville, Calif. Hewas born on Feb. 22, 1935 in Massachusetts. He is survived by his son Scott Query of Reno, Nev. Graveside services will be held at Diamond Crest Cemetery at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 14. KRAMER Longtime Lake Almanor resident Cappy R. Kramer died Friday morning, Oct. 26, 2007 at Seneca District Hospital, Chester, Calif. He was born 91 years ago in Nevada City, Calif. on May 16, 1916 to the late Ray and Mae (Fischer) Kramer. Kramer is survived by his wife of 43 years, Minnie; son, Cappy J.*Kramer and friend, Wanda Butler of Willow creek, Calif.; daughter Nancy and her husband Rick Jevons of Aptos, Calif along with two grandchildren; Corinna and Zachary Jevons.
